Founded in 1934, the School of Economics and Business of the University of Chile (FEN UCHILE) is the oldest and most prestigious in the country. It has contributed to the training of professionals in the fields of economics, management, business, management control, information systems and auditing, which have contributed to our progress, to the discussion of the country’s issues and to the creation of new knowledge. With the most important Alumni Network in the country, comprised of more than 15,000 professionals which make up FEN Alumni, our alumni are recognized for their invaluable contributions to the nation both in the public and private sectors and have contributed to the economic development and welfare of our citizens.

Our mission is “to develop and train competent leaders with solid knowledge and skills in Business and Economics through its undergraduate, graduate, and executive development programs, who are capable of excelling in Chile and abroad; and to build and generate relevant new knowledge in the fields of Business and Economics that contributes to the development and competitiveness of the country and the Latin American region within an environment of academic rigor, excellence, and intellectual diversity. We aim to develop influential players in the national and regional business and economics communities who are able to provide and implement new, practical, and useful ideas for their countries”.

Excellence, as one of our values, is present across teaching, research and outreach, and in our students, professors, collaboration staff, and processes. The School promotes a broad view of the world which has been built through the great diversity, heterogeneity, places of origin and cultures of both its academics and its students. With the objective of promoting diversity in its broadest context, the School has encouraged, for example, special enrollment mechanisms which assure the plurality of our students and also has encouraged professionals from different disciplinary areas to attain post-graduate studies.

About Chile

Chile is one of the longest and most beautiful countries in the world. It is known for its startling contrasts, extreme beauties, and diverse geography which allows seeing and exploring volcanoes, glaciers, geysers, hot springs, spectacular mountains, beaches , lakes and rivers. About Santiago

Santiago, with its more than 6 million inhabitants, is the capital and the destination that has the most cultural and touristic activity in the country. Here you will have the opportunity to visit plenty of art galleries and museums, the Palacio de la Moneda—which is the presidential palace— the Main Square, the picturesque Bellavista neighborhood – where the home of the famous poet Pablo Neruda is located –the Santa Lucía Hill, the Metropolitan Park in the heights, some of the best vineyards in the country, and many other attractions.

The main attractions near to School of Business and Economics of the University of Chile are:
• Bellavista neighborhood: known for its bohemian style, nightclubs, restaurants, bars and the home of the famous poet Pablo Neruda. It is said that Bellavista never sleeps, if you want to relax or party this is the place for you. It also has many theaters and shops, among many other attractions.
• San Cristobal Hill: it is Santiago’s largest natural area, right in the middle of the city. If you want a great panoramic view of the city, this is the place to visit. You can also visit the Metropolitan Zoo, located up the hill, where you can see many animals from around the world and Chile.
• Historic Center: right next to the Main Square (Plaza de Armas) you can see many of the historic buildings of our country. Be delighted by the colonial architecture, restaurants, the Cathedral, Post Office, City Hall, among others.
• Lastarria neighborhood: known as an historical neighborhood in the center of Santiago, it is a center for cultural activity with cinemas, theaters, museums, restaurants and bars. You can also visit the Forestal Park, the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM) and the Fine Arts Museum, that are nearby to the main street.
